Telethon Institute of Genetics and Medicine – Pozzuoli (NA)

The centre, directed by Andrea Ballabio, is one of Italy’s top research institutes. It moved to its new premises, the former Olivetti factory, in 2013 and has become a pole of attraction, drawing scientists from all over the world to southern Italy.

The excellence of Tigem’s research activities is also reflected in the institute’s ability to attract investments from many international players (e.g. the European Union, the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the European molecular biology organisation, EMBO, the Wellcome Trust and the European Research Council).
