Telethon’s mission is to support and promote scientific research, both at the basic and clinical level, aimed at finding a cure for genetic diseases. Improving the visibility of our studies published in the most important international journals, which are subjected to peer-review, through free online access, is the best way of rendering Telethon’s financed research accessible and available not only to the scientific community, but also to our principal stake-holders – the patients and donors.
Telethon believes that promoting free access to the results of our scientific research is in line with our mission and offers a contribution towards the international community as a whole.
It is for this reason that in 2010 Telethon joined up with Europe PubMed Central (Europe PMC), the European version of the international open access archive service for scientific publications in the biomedical field (PMC).
Open Access Policy requires that all original scientific research articles funded by Telethon must be deposited in the Open Access digital archives PubMed Central (PMC) and Europe PubMed Central (Europe PMC) and ensures that Telethon will cover the costs – where applicable – to publish the article as an “Open Access” article.
|How to comply with Telethon’s Open Access Policy:|
