The Telethon Scientific Convention is the annual showcase for excellent Italian scientific research in the field of genetic diseases.
All the currently (approximately 700) Telethon-funded scientists gather from all over Italy in a huge scientific meeting, unique in its kind, to provide an update on Telethon’s research, highlight the progress made and discuss its future prospects. The Convention represents an exceptional occasion to verify, compare and exchange scientific information and is an excellent chance for researchers to set up new scientific collaborations and plan innovative research at the international level.
The results, on show in an open public space, are displayed through the use of posters illustrating the work of all our currently funded projects and are available to everyone, lay public included. These results are of particular interest to the many patient associations, and clearly demonstrate how Telethon invests the money given to them by the Italian public.
A summary of all these results is published in one single volume, available, both in Italian and in English, on request from convention@telethon.it.
