Jeffrey Dilworth, Ottawa Hospital Research Institute (Canada)

Senior Scientist in the Sprott Center for Stem Cell Research of the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute and Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine of the University of Ottawa (Canada).

Jeffrey DilworthDr. Jeffrey Dilworth obtained his BSc and his PhD from Queen'S University in Kingston (Canada). After a post doctoral fellowship at the Institut de Génétique et de Biologie Moléculaire et Cellulaire in Strasbourg, France, he became Research Associate of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle (Usa).
At the moment he is Senior Scientist in the Sprott Center for Stem Cell Research of the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute and Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine of the University of Ottawa (Canada).
The goal of his research program is to understand the mechanisms by which tissue-specific patterns of gene expression are established during development, and how this can be reproduced in stem cells. In particular, his research focus is the mechanisms implicated in muscle formation and differentiation, through a combination of biochemistry, cell biology, molecular biology, genomics, and proteomics.
