Projects examination is carried out by internationally renowned scientists from abroad, expert in the field of genetic diseases and on the topics relevant to the grants. The Telethon Scientific Office manages the entire process, preparing the Call for Proposals and ensuring transparency of the evaluation procedure. Funding the best research projects is the only possible way to move towards the identification of possible therapies to cure genetic diseases.
Starting from 2018, Fondazione Telethon will adopt a new fiscal year by moving its closing date to December 31 (solar year). As a result, the calendar of the next Call for Research projects, which traditionally opened in November and closed in proximity of the annual budget ending in June, will be postponed. Further communications will follow as soon as possible and in any case within the first semester of 2018.
